Wonderful songs and music. Difficult to know whether some songs are being sung in Irish or Scots Gaelic as Celts from both countries are participating. However, this is no problem and it is wondrous to see and hear songs being sung in languages which, in former centuries, English Governments have sought to completely extirpate. One hopes that more folk, young and old, will learn these languages in order that they may regain something of their former glory and geographical territory. In addition, one hopes that the Manx language will prosper and rejoin its c lose relatives in terms of the spoken word and song. Long may these wonderful revivals prosper and gain in strength.

My wife and saw Barbara at Aberdeen Music Hall last week and it was a great show. I'm glad I bought Words Unspoken because it has some lovely songs that are arranged beautifully. It's nice to hear her get back to some Folk songs, but with an added twist. She is a proper singer that sounds as good live as on CD. You won't be disappointed if you buy it.

Being a horse farmer, when someone gave me the CD with Last Trip Home on it, I was taken by the song. However I couldn't bear to leave it as a goodby to horses since we use them. So I took the liberty of changing a few words...
So steady boys walk on, our work is just begun,
Once more we'll plow and till the fields, the horses' day is come.
And this is just tonight's trip home, so steady boys walk on.
...In a' the years a've plied ma trade, all the fields I've ploughed and laid,
I always thought the time would come when a horse's work would've just begun.
For progress runs it's driven course and tractors ha' been rejoined by the horse, So steady ....

I often sing this to my team as I am out working in the fields. If you could pass this on to his widow, Patsy, I'd be much obliged. I've wanted to let someone know a bit of the inspiration the song has provided to others. All the Best, Jay Bailey, Vermont, USA
